What is Rebls?
Rebls empowers people to take control of their real estate experience.
For Homeowners: Gauge demand for your home online. Skip the stress of listing your home for sale on the market. Find a buyer and save money on agent commissions.
For Buyers: Make your home search easy with access to unlisted homes you won’t find anywhere else. Connect directly with homeowners. Once you’re ready, get introduced to an expert who can handle the details.
For Experts: Work with homeowners and buyers once they’re ready to involve an expert on a potential deal.
What’s your traction been like thus far?
It’s been good. We’ve grown a supportive beta user base, shown some incredible proof points like helping save a consumer $50k in commissions last week, and have closed two small investment rounds, each in less than a day. There’s definitely some excitement being generated about what Rebls means for the future of real estate.
What do you know now that you wish you would have known when you started Rebls?
Having a dedicated office is much better than having people work from home offices or Starbucks. It also lets others know you’re serious about your business.
What’s a hypothesis that you’ve had that has failed? And how did you respond?
Hiring decent people part time will work out fine. It doesn’t. It’s best to hire exceptional people, full time, who are passionate about the mission. We’re now only hiring full time with the exception of photographers.
What’s your favorite startup in Seattle? (Besides your own!)
I’m a big fan of Farmstr, Janelle Maiocco and team. Their mission of empowering consumers to live healthier lives by creating a local farm food marketplace is one I support. Plus Janelle has a ton of passion for their product, and has helped me in my entrepreneurial journey.
What’s your favorite thing about being an entrepreneur?
Impact. When the 14 hour days begin to take their toll, our company mission reminds me that this isn’t just work. It’s a calling.
What’s your favorite local sports team?
Seahawks all the way.
If your company were an animal, what would it be and why?
A yellow lab. We’re energetic, loyal and eager to help.
If you were to take your company on a date, where would it want to go? Why?
Bocce Ball at VonTrapp’s. That was our most recent team event, and probably the most fun.
