What is Pawzii?
Pawzii helps animal shelters and humane societies with a platform of SaaS applications to manage their pet licensing programs, schedule surgery appointments, and connect with their community volunteers
What’s your traction been like thus far?
Great! We partnered with a group of shelters in western Washington as part of a pilot program and have processed licenses and appointments for a few thousand pets.
What do you know now that you wish you would have known when you started Pawzii?
One lesson I’ve learned is to never count one’s chickens before they hatch. It’s so easy to take a soft ‘yes’ as a closed deal, but until you have ink on paper, it’s never a done deal.
What’s your favorite startup in Seattle? (Besides your own!)
I love the gang over at Rover. Aaron, Greg, Phil, Scott, and Brent are people I’ve gotten to know over the past couple years and their passion for pets is clear. They’re hard not to love!
What’s your favorite thing about being an entrepreneur?
I like how it makes the world seem smaller. For the past couple years now, my networking has increased exponentially and now whenever I go out for lunch or attend an event, there’s always someone I’m happy to run into.
What’s your favorite local sports team?
Sounders ’til I die.
If your company were an animal, what would it be and why?
Pawzii would be a creature similar to that old Nickelodeon cartoon, CatDog. We love both of these critters equally and we’re as fiercely loyal as a dog and nimble as a cat.
If you were to take Pawzii on a date, where would it want to go?
Pawzii would like to spend some time at a nearby shelter, like the Kitsap Humane Society, and give some TLC to the pets that have been cooped all day. Take the pups out for a walk and nuzzle a few kitties.
