What does College Mapper do?

CollegeMapper is an educational GPS designed to help students set and achieve their post-high school educational goal. Developed by counselor Susanna Cerasuolo,CollegeMapper creates a personalized path for each student and keeps them on track to get to and through college or vocational school.

What’s your traction been like thus far?

It’s been great! Kids really love the website and they provide us with great ideas for tools they could use.

Are you hiring? If so, for what?

Not at this time.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started your company?

It’s a marathon, not a sprint, and don’t lose site of the vision. Keep doing what you do with passion and you can make it through the long haul.

What’s a hypothesis that you’ve had that has failed? And how did you respond?

We thought we could just build a helpful tool and get that out to all the students in the US. Students have to be found and we responded to this by launching an excellent marketing campaign.

Ravenna Solutions!

What’s your favorite thing about being an entrepreneur?

You can pivot when things aren’t going as predicted, and because the start up is lean you can move quickly. It’s great for creative types.

What’s your favorite local sports team?

Seahawks!

If your company were an animal, what would it be and why?

A labrador. They’re very friendly and fun to be around, and they’re very faithful, fabulous at finding solutions, and they are known for helping people get to their destinations.

If you were to take your company on a date, where would it want to go?

CollegeMapper would want to go to a volunteer event in the community, something to do with helping under-served children.
